BLUE LAGOON - Geothermal Spa is Iceland’s most unique and popular attraction. Guests enjoy bathing and relaxing in BLUE LAGOON geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin.

In addition to bathing in the lagoon guests have access to a sauna with a view of the lagoon, a steam bath with white walls that resemble silica mud, and a cosy steam bath carved into a lava cave. Guests can also stand beneath a BLUE LAGOON waterfall for an energizing massage. Of course, guests bathing in the milky waters of the lagoon have easy access to the famous white silica mud, an essential part of the spa experience.

Spa treatments and massage
A selection of BLUE LAGOON in-water spa treatments and massages are available. They take place in the lagoon, and the fresh air and natural surroundings enhance the feeling of wellness. Guests can choose from a 10-minute head-and-shoulder massage and up to a 50-minute full-body massage. The spa treatments last from 30 minutes and up to 120 minutes and include Salt glow, Nourishing and relaxing mineral salt and algae treatment, and Slimming treatment.

The Rift (Gjáin)
The Rift (Gjáin) is a dramatic exhibition of geology, geothermal heat, and conservation of energy located in Eldborg, near the BLUE LAGOON – Geothermal Spa (800 m).

State-of-the art technology brings the exhibition to live providing visitors with a unique opportunity to experience and learn about Iceland's geology. The exhibition includes 18 displays that feature the local geology, geothermal activity and the harnessing of the energy from the bowels of the earth. Each display features video clips, photographs, pictures or maps to explain the evolution of Icelandic geology.

The exhibition explains how different studies and science meet during the research of world's geology and the geology of Iceland making it an ideal choice for anyone interested in these subjects. Guests can also experience the sounds of an earthquake through a powerful sound system.
